National Meeting Reminder 1st Feb 2014

A reminder that the first ATAI National meeting of 2014 will take place in the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin at 2.30pm - 4.30pm. The ATAI are delighted to announce that there will be a tour of the collection for their members prior to the meeting, beginning at 1pm. Places in the tour can be reserved by emailing; atai.secretary@gmail.com.

Mayo Branch Meeting

 The Mayo Branch wish to inform members that their first meeting of the new year is taking place on Monday the 20th Jan at 7.30 in St. Josephs Secondary School Foxford. Hope to see you there.

The newly appointed National Executive extends every best wish for Christmas and the coming New Year. Hopefully, 2014 will see positive developments in the progression of curriculum change in our subject and continued promotion of art in secondary schools. Enjoy a well deserved rest over the Christmas break!!

Congratulations to the New National ATAI Committee

A new National Committee was elected at the AGM of the ATAI on Saturday 30th of November. I'd like to congratulate and welcome five new committee members to the National Executive, Catherine Hennessy (President), Natasha Edmondson (Vice President), Dawn O'Sullivan (Secretary) Maria Murray (Treasurer), Mary O'Mahony (PRO) and I'd also like to thank two previous committee members, Amy Lomasney and Catherine Jordan for staying on for another year in their posts. The web committee will remain as before.

Annual General Meeting of the ATAI - Nov 30th

The Annual Gerneral Meeting of the Art Teachers' Association will take place at the Crawford Art Gallery, Emmet Place, Cork City on Saturday November 30th, 2.00pm - 4.30pm. Further details and agenda for the meeting have been emailed to all members. Please direct any queries regarding the meeting to our Secretary Eibhlin Collins at atai.secretary@gmail.com. I look forward to seeing all our members in Cork in two weeks time.

Art Appreciation Workshops

Delighted to see so many people at the art appreciation workshop last night. Delivered fantasticly by Aine Andrews. Looking forward to the next 3 Wednesday nights!

Guided Tour of exhibition: Eileen Gray: Architect Designer Painter

Anne O Shea has booked the tour of the Eileen Gray Exhibition for Saturday 16th November at IMMA. This is a great opportunity to her work that was an display at the start of the year in the pompidou centre. Pieces have been collect from Ireland that are normally in storage in the National Museum and various collections all around the world.

There is a fee for this exhibition if you go at any time, but through booking this tour  ATAI will be paying the fee. We have 25 places and it will be base on a first come first serve basis.
